Vicus (vicus.ca) has no accounts and never asks who you are. This page says exactly what the site records and how to turn it off.
To learn which parts of the city and which features people use, so the map can be improved. Searching for or opening an address can hint at where someone lives or works, which is why the records carry only a random ID and are used only in aggregate.
Recording is on from your first visit. You can turn it off here at any time. Turning it off deletes the random ID from your browser and nothing further is sent. Browsers that send a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal start with recording off.
Listing a rental needs no account. The details of the unit, its costs and its photos are shown publicly on the map once the listing has been reviewed. Your email address is required so the listing can be confirmed; it and your phone number are shown on the listing only if you tick the boxes to show them. You are given a private link when you post, and that link takes the listing down at any time. Do not put anything in a description or photo that you would not want public.
The random ID and your on/off choice are kept in your browser's local storage for this site. Usage records are kept by the site operator and are not sold or shared.
Questions, or a request to delete the records tied to your browser's ID: contact details to be added before public release.
